North Carolina's cultural heritage including Studio Craft, Black Mountain

programs for people of all ages.
Next, we're off to have lunch and explore downtown
Asheville, starting with the Woolworth
Walk! Woolworth Walk now exhibits more than 150 artists and artisans
selling and making jewelry, fine art, decorative art and crafts in it's
nearly 20,000 square feet of air-conditioned, quality display and studio
space. Woolworth Walk also boasts a fully operational Soda Fountain
built to resemble the original Woolworth Luncheonette (one possible
lunch locale). A 50's flair was used in the design to further compliment
the vast array of art. The Soda Fountain is in its original location
and is now open and serving many of the original menu items, including
egg creams, club sandwiches, coffee and of course old fashioned ice
cream sodas. You don't need a time machine to travel into the past.
Just visit the Soda Fountain at Woolworth Walk. The afternoon hours
are yours to linger at the Walk or to walk the downtown area. At 4:00
we'll depart from the artsy district of Asheville and journey home.
